Fellow Brethren,
Wow, we have but 5 days until Christmas, and I still have exams
to take tomorrow! Christmas has really snuck up on me this year!
Following in the tradition of Dr. LaRue, I too would like to
extend my Christmas wishes for you and your loved ones on behalf
of the undergraduate chapter. May this be a time of joy in your
household.
If you haven't already heard, a Georgetown College freshman lost
his life in a car accident Thursday night. His name was Matt
White. His father is a pastor in the Elizabethtown, KY area.
Please be in prayer for his family and his friends as they
struggle to find the joy and hope that the Christmas season
brings.
Please also continue to remember Kappa-Omega in your thoughts and
prayers. As soon as we come back from the holiday break, we head
into the final stretch of Rush. We are hoping to get a good
number of quality young men to keep the chapter going strong.
I received word Friday that the Cross and Crescent (our
fraternity magazine) has decided to feature our homecoming and
house renaming celebrations in the upcoming issue. Be looking for
that.
As you are giving and receiving, singing and rejoicing, eating
and watching football, remember those who are not so fortunate to
enjoy these things. Christmas should be one of the happiest times
of the year. May that be the case for this Christmas.
Most warmly yours in ZAX,
Daniel Glaze

Dear Alumni Brothers of Kappa-Omega Zeta,
On behalf of our active Brothers collectively and myself
personally, I would like to wish you and yours Happy Holidays and
a very Merry Christmas. The Brothers have had a "right busy"
and successful Fall Semester with highlights including:
1. Homecoming '99 and the Dedication of the Dr. Ralph L. Curry
House
2. unprecedented success with the North American Food Drive [30K+
pounds]
3. a wonderful time of renewal during the Fall Ritual
We are tickled and proud that Brother Cory Smith will be
participating with our Tiger Football Team in the NAIA National
Championship Game in Savannah, TN on Saturday; Brother Jason
Castle has been accepted into Medical School; and several other
Brothers are currently in the process of application and
acceptance into assorted professional and graduate schools across
the country.
We are equally excited about the coming Spring Semester, as our
High Kappa, Kevin Brown has organized a great Winter Retreat, our
High Delta, Jason Catlet has laid wonderful plans for our Formal
and Informal Rush Parties and all of the Brothers are working
diligently to ensure that we take into the Bond of Brotherhood, a
great Associate Class.
Please know that I consider it a continuing professional
privilege and personal pleasure to work with, know and be
challenged by the Brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha. What we are today,
you gave us - we work to ensure gifts of equal quality - for all
future Brothers of Kappa-Omega.
I would like to close - in the same fashion that I closed my PEE
[Pre Exam Epistle] to our active Brothers - with the great words
of Henry Wadworth Longfellow - written as our Country was torn
apart by the Civil War, and at a time when he had just lost his
son to this terrible, raging conflict.
V3: And in despair I bowed my head: "There is no peace on
earth," I said, "For hate is strong, and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men."
V4: Then pealed the bells more loud and deep: "God is not
dead, nor doth he sleep; the wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth good will to men."
V5: Till, ringing, singing on its way, the world revolved from
night to day, A voice, a chime, a chant sublime, Of peace on
earth good will to men.

Good Brothers,
I would be highly remiss, as we approach our Thanksgiving Break,
if I did not extend my deepest and most sincere thanks to each of
you who comprise our Kapppa-Omega Zeta. Thank you for what you do
daily to keep the fire and passion for our Lambda Chi Alpha
Brotherhood burning brightly at Georgetown College.
Thanks to those of you who always "step up to the plate"
and help in all things large and small; but an equal thanks to
those of you - who for whatever reasons - participate less - but
keep the "flame" very much alive in your heart. Thanks
to those of you who agree with and support your Zeta Officers and
EC in the challenges which constantly confront us; but an equal
thanks to those of you - who with great personal integrity and
honesty - disagree - and offer diverent and important opinions on
the operations of our Fraternity. Thanks to those of you who are
"loud" Brothers - those of you who wear literally and
carry figuratively the letters and flag of Lambda Chi Alpha in
all that you say and do; but an equal thanks to those of you who
are "quiet" Brothers -those of you who perhaps do not
own twenty-five green sweat shirts - but by thought, word and
deed proclaim the traditions, principles and ideals of our
Fraternity. Each of you are vital to our Brotherhood - thanks to
all.
I heard the Precher-Man at the Church-House yesterday read some
Bible verses with which I was unfamiliar [maybe no particular
surprise there] and as we enter into this special time of
Thanksgiving - thought I would share them with you.....
Philippians IV: 4-8 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say
Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is
at Hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and
supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known
unto God. And the Peace of God which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ. Finally,
brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are
honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good
report; if there be any Praise, think on these things.
I consider it a privilege and a pleasure to be a part of our Zeta
- your vitality, your enthusiasm, your quest for excellence -
challenges me daily to be a better man. I wish you and yours a
wonderful Thanksgiving Break, have safe travels, and please
remember to be thankful in all things.
Most Warmly,
Pete LaRue

I am excited to report that on November 6, 1999, Lambda Chi Alpha
exceeded its North American Food Drive goals by collecting more
than 2.2 million pounds of food for the needy.
We are very pound of our member's efforts, as we work to focus
our fraternal experience more on personal character development
through leadership, scholarship, community service, and positive
social experiences--making the food drive an excellent venue. You
may read more about this event at the Kappa Omega Food
Drive Web Page.
Also, Digital LCA at http://digital.lambdachi.org/
keeps getting better. If you have not returned in the last
several months you will find a whole new look, as the site now
customizes itself to bring you information about your chapter. We
have also added calendars and bulletin boards that are just for
the members of your chapter.
The most popular features are still there. Be sure the visit the
Member Search area and click on Advanced Searches. There you will
find that we have made it easy for you to get in touch with your
50 best friends or find out who from your chapter lives within a
50-mile radius. With such powerful tools available for our
members around the clock, it is no wonder that our members keep
coming back.

Brothers,
What a joy it was to see you at homecoming. What a special day--speeches
by Bill Beams, Carroll Roberts, and Frank Penn, along with the
dedication of our house to the memory of Dr. Ralph L. Curry,
everything culminating in an awesome party and dance that night.
The highlight of the day had to be the presence of Dr. Gwen Curry.
Thanks to all of you, Homecoming was a success. Please make plans
now to attend next year.
A bit of news:
--If you haven't heard yet, Brother Billy Vance, Kappa-Omega 679,
passed away the last part of last week. Please keep his family in
your prayers.
--Kappa-Omega is making great strides in raising funds for our
house renovation. If you are able, please consider a donation.
--Fall Ritual. November 12, starting at 5:30. We will have a
"dry run"; through the ritual in preparation for the
"real thing" in the Spring. All alumni are invited.
Oran Farris and others are planning on attending. Please come.
For more info, call Eric at (502) 863-8665.
Thank you for your continued support. Please remember that you
ARE a Lambda Chi, not WERE a Lambda Chi. You each have and
continue to leave your mark upon our zeta. Best of luck in all
you do.

Brothers,
Due to my grandparents' illness I wasn't able to attend
Georgetown College this school year. I have daily been
experiencing the trials that life gives a person when unexpected
obstacles come about. I feel in my heart that this will
strengthen me and I realize that in the future the decision of
staying home for the year was the best decision in the end. Each
day I appreciate the times I experienced at Georgetown. I have
made new friends at Campbellsville University but the fact of
studying, working and other obligations I hAve has caused a giant
problem for me to come see my fraternity brothers and other close
friends I have at UK and at Western.
The sacrifices I have taken is definately paying off right now
even though I have to suffer and sacrifice the preciuos time I
could have being with the fraternity from the big social
functions to just hanging out and talking to a close brother.
Knowing that Jesus is the center of what our fraternity stands
for I certainly stand firm in what I have become from the
experiences of being a Lambda Chi Alpha member.
I have to write you this becuase there is no way I can show my
brothers of the pain and guild I sometimes acquie when I am alone
thinking sometimes I feel that I have let the chaper down, from
being frequently away. I know my family is the most important
thing in my life and I know everybody understands but seriously
no one can feel what I feel sometimes. Even though life is easy
for me as far as my school and adapting to going to
Campbellsville Univ. I still feel a part of me is gone being away
from everyone. I know that life strengthens us and God has plans
for his children that not everyone thinks is the most fulfulling
way but there is truly reason behind my lonliness from my frat
brothers. I really don't know what it is yet (other than my
grandparents situation) but I am trying to keep up my faith and
persevere which will truly strengthen me for what God has planned.
To all my Brothers with respect & honor,
Joe Ewing

Dear Alumni Brothers of our Kappa Omega Zeta,
I know that neither all Alumni Brothers are "on-line"
nor that life's schedules enabled everyone to attend Homecoming
1999, but I feel compelled to shout THANKS & THANKS to
everyone - anyhow.
What a pleasure it was to see so many of you down at the House on
Saturday, what a privilege it was to dedicate the House to the
great memory and life's work of Dr. Ralph L. Curry. It was a very
special and most-memorable day for me and hopefully also for you.
I get goose-bumps thinking again of the beautiful words spoken by
Carroll Roberts and Frank Penn, seeing Gr. Gwen the ribbon,
seeing our Brotherhood united in a day of rejoicing and
celebration.....man this is what it is all about.
Mark - how can we thank you enough for your ongoing efforts for
our web-site - you provide a link - which enables many to keep
the bond strong; Bill - you are indeed the & "Alumni of
the Millennium" - you have been a guiding spirit in so much
during the past few years - the word thanks is surely not much -
but I extend it to you most heartily; and what about young Daniel
- I thought he did wonderfully - organizing and ram-rodding a
pretty fine program [let's now hear a round of applause for all].
Visit when you can, send bucks if you are able, keep us posted on
your life and life's interests as time permits - but know and
know always - that the Brothers and I are plugging along -
working to ensure that Lambda Chi Alpha remains a continuing
source of pride for you - our Alumni Brothers - and our entire
campus community.

Brothers of Kappa-Omega,
Greetings from the frat!
I am thoroughly enjoying the position as the alumni secretary.
This is due, in large part, to the encouragement, suggestions,
and constructive criticism that I have received from you--my
mature (I was sure not to say "old") brethren. Please
keep it coming! I am learning a lot and am enjoying working with
you.
HOMECOMING:
Saturday, October 23 at 10:30 AM, all brothers of Kappa-Omega are
invited to a "Coming Home" party. We will have a snack-type
breakfast while we mingle and catch up. We will then have an
informal meeting to bring you up to date on all the activities
and officers and such. The actives would then like to treat you
to a catered lunch at the house. We are also renaming the house
after Dr. Ralph Curry. You will not want to miss this special
ceremony! I can assure you that it will be something to remember.
The football game will be held after the festivities. If you'd
like to go, I'd like for us to try to sit together and cheer the
tigers on. If you didn't know, Brother Cory Smith (KO 1144) is
the starting kicker and he is doing incredibly well this year. He
has received special teams player-of-the-week recognition 2 of
the past 3 games!
FALL RITUAL:
We will again be holding a Fall Ritual this year on Friday,
November 12, 1999. This is just a dress rehearsal for the one we
hold in the Spring for the new guys. We would like for you to
come! We will meet at 5:30 PM at the house and all go to dinner
together in the college's newly renovated cafeteria. If you need
to know more, please contact Eric Reynolds, the High Phi, at (502)
863-8665. This would be a great opportunity to experience again
the time of inspiration, introspection, learning, and sheer joy
associated with this incredible event.
Enough with the news. We have a few brothers who are requesting
assistance from their alumni brothers. They are starting a
business and are looking for a few mentors who have done this and
could offer some practical guidance. One guy in particular is
requesting a mentor with investing experience. If you are
interested, please contact me and I will relay the information.
Thank you.
I think that is all from my corner of the world. Again, I
consider it an honor and privilige to serve you in this capacity.
If there is anything that you need from me, please do not
hesitate to contact me. I am here FOR YOU.
May the God of Grace also give you Peace.

Gentlemen of Kappa-Omega Zeta,
It is with great pleasure that I write the inaugural e-mail
letter of my term as High Rho. Following in the footsteps of
Kevin Brown, I would like to send you periodical updates on what
the chapter is doing (awards and accolades), involved in (campus-wide),
and changes we undergo (rush, association, new officers, etc.).
You can expect these "electronic newsletters" to be
sent 3 or 4 times a month.
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Daniel Glaze and I am
a senior from Richmond, Virginia. I am a Spanish and French
double major, looking for a career in either business or ministry
with international people. I have previously served my chapter as
Athletic Chair, Education Chair (High Sigma), and finally as
alumni secretary.
MAKE PLANS NOW TO ATTEND HOMECOMING 1999!!! Saturday, October 23,
1999 at the Lambda Chi House. I would love to see each one of you
there. This will be our 60/90 anniversary. The 60th anniversary
of Kappa-Omega and the 90th anniversary of our national
fraternity. Please make a special effort to come and catch up
with us.
I am currently working on our fall newsletter that you should
each receive by the end of this month. There is a different
format to the newsletter this year and I hope you are pleased
with the changes.
If you ever have a special announcement that you would like
distributed to all the alumni, please do not hesitate to let me
know. I can include it in these e-mails or I can ask Mark Lenahan
to put it on the announcements page of our Kappa-Omega Website (www.kozlca.com). Check it out!

The Gentlemen of the Kappa Omega Zeta of Lambda Chi
Alpha are very pleased to announce that our Georgetown College
Chapter was accorded several prestigious awards at the annual
Lambda Chi Alpha International Leadership Conference.
These recognitions included.....
1) outstanding student involvement
2) outstanding alumni programming
3) oustanding academic achievement
Note 1: the alumni programming award is a personal award and
reflects the work and efforts of Kevin Brown, RHO [Alumni
Coordinator] during the 1998-99 academic year.
Note 2: the academic achievement award is forth-coming - there
was a slight "hold-up" due to a paper-work "glitch"
And most noteworthy, our Georgetown College Zeta was presented
with the "Grand High Alpha Award" - which is the
highest recognition which may be bestowed upon any Zeta [chapter]
by our International Fraternity. This award is comprehensive in
nature and is accorded only to chapters who consistently display
excellence in the areas of academics, community service, student
involvement, alumni affairs, campus contributions and individual
leadership. It is a great honor for our Georgetown Zeta -
reflecting the legacy of excellence - endowed to us by our Alumni
Brothers; the specific efforts of our 1998-99 Brothers &
Leadership Team; and the ongoing, commitment and efforts of our
current Brothers.
On behalf of our Kappa Omega Zeta collectively and myself
personally, I would like to thank all of our Alumni Brothers and
everyone in our Campus Community for your ongoing support of

Dear Alumni Brother of our Kappa Omega Zeta,
I hope that this finds you well - and that in your corner of the
world - all is stimulating, invigorating, challenging, rewarding
and refreshing. As our newly-elected RHO, Daniel Glaze, is
spending his summer in Spain, I am taking the liberty of
contacting you - our KOZLCA - OLB [Kappa Omega Zeta of Lambda Chi
Alpha On-Line Brothers] to say hello and to continue [in my
humble fashion] the wonderful line-of-communications which our
recent-past RHO, Kevin Brown, established with each of you.
At the outset - I would like to remind you to put Saturday,
October 23rd on your calendars - when our college community will
celebrate "Homecoming '99" - but more importantly our
Kappa Omega Zeta will celebrate our "60/90 Anniversary"
and will formally dedicate the fraternity house as the "Curry
House" in memory, celebration and honor of the unparalleled
service which Dr. Curry afforded our Zeta during his three
decades of service as High Pi. There will be other special events
and activities combined with these two important events - of
which I am sure you will receive a great deal more information.
Additionally, I would like to thank Brother Lenahan for his
continued efforts towards and for our Zeta as exemplified by his
excellent efforts on the Web Site and his "House Challenge"
[and of course - it is never too late to be a part of the
Challenge] Also Brother Beams - who in the past year - has helped
spear-head a renewed interest and involvement with Alumni. And
last [but certainly not least] Matt McCollough and our 1998-99
LCA Leadership Team - who well-guided the Brotherhood this past
year - how can we thank you all enough?
As we look towards the 1999-00 Academic Year - I see and sense
several challenges [which should translate into opportunities]
for our Zeta - and we need your help with each. Though we
continue to have unparalleled success and acknowledgements in
many areas [as exemplified by the 1999 Greek Awards Banquet in
which the Brothers were honored in each category - and by the
coming LCA International Leadership Conference - more later on
this] we need to "buckle-down" in several areas - so
that we may enter the new millennium in a position of relative
strength. Challenge areas include.....
1) continue and conclude the necessary fund-raising efforts for
the renovation and re-conditioning of the chapter house - a long,
long way to go
2) thoughtful and reasonable decisions regarding the conclusion
of the renovation project - which will make the chapter house a
showplace on campus, a point of pride for our active and alumni
Brothers - yet comfortable and inviting to all who visit
3) continued emphasis on Alumni communications and involvement -
we need and want you to always feel that you are an ongoing,
integral part of Kappa Omega - not just for $$$ - but for the
wisdom and experience which you have - which we need
4) increased emphasis on our academic standards and standing -
though we remain the Fraternity with the highest campus GPA - we
have dropped - incrementally (I'm not sure that is a word) - for
the past few semesters - and this trend needs to end
5) increased emphasis - in all things - on our basic tenets &
creed - we need to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood -
remembering always that which makes Lambda Chi Alpha - Lambda Chi
Alpha
6) increased efforts to ensure that Kappa Omega is "The
Place To Be" - a place where the best academics, the best
devotionals, the best intramurals, the best campus-involvement,
the best educational programs, the best parties are a given
I am sure that Alan Redditt, our new Alpha, and the entire KO
1999-00 Leadership Team, will make great strides in these and
other areas - but please know, and never doubt that, WE NEED YOUR
HELP.
I consider it a continuing privilege and pleasure to serve our
Brotherhood and though I will be on academic sabbatical this fall
- my ever-growing respect for the Brothers & our Brotherhood
and knowing of the challenges which face us - ensured my decision
to "stay on the switch" with the work of the Fraternity
throughout the coming semester [though I might have to miss one
or two meetings]. I hope to see and hear from you in the near
future. Be Well.

This weekend, I had the opportunity to stop by the Chapter House
while I was in Georgetown and I was blown away. In case you
didn't know, the chapter is in the process of renovating the
first floor of the house. I reviewed a copy of the proposal
they presented to the college and it was impressive. Not only did
it include an overview of their proposal, but cost estimates and
floorplans as well. As I walked through the formal and
informal rooms, there were green signs on the walls telling
visitors what was proposed for that area. New tile floors,
bookshelves and even a six foot mural of the Coat of Arms on the
entrance wall were included on these "wish lists".
While some of these things are completed, there is still much to
be done. Of course, without money these ideas will never happen.
To help the chapter, I'd like to introduce the first ever Kappa
Omega E-Mail Challenge. A copy of this e-mail is being sent out
to all Brothers "on-line", close to 200 in total, with
a challenge to each of you to match my donation of
$100.00 to the chapter for the completion of the renovation
project. If everyone matches my donation, we'll raise
almost $20,000 which is what is needed by the Chapter to help our
house reflect the quality of Brothers it produces.
Just reply to this e-mail and let me know that you will accept my
challenge and then send your donation by September 1st to:
Mr. Alan Redditt
c/o Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity

Please make your check out to Georgetown College for the Lambda

challenge and then join me at Homecoming '99 to see our "new"
house!

Hey you guys, this is Terry Clark, Zeta 970, checking in.
James Riley and I still have a few stories circulating the halls
of the fraternity, I hope. Some are best not repeated.
I currently serve as Director of Youth and Recreation Ministries
for a 1400 member PC(USA) church in Wilmington, North Carolina (hometown
of Michael Jordan). My wife, Natalie, and I live about 25
minutes from the beach and suffer immensely every summer from the
abundance of sunshine and surf.
Actually, the summers are pretty hot, humid, and mosquito-infested,
but we could do worse. I've been serving here for little
more than a year and am looking forward to joining a small group
of church members on a cutting-edge mission trip to Brazil this
summer. We intend to boat down the Amazon River, visiting
some remote villages, and assessing the potential for larger
mission endeavors for upcoming summers. Sounds exciting,
huh?
This is a great church and we'd love to have some brothers visit
sometime. Let me know how I can serve you guys. I
only make it home to Lousiville about once a year to visit my
family, so I'm sorry I haven't stopped in for a while, but I
haven't forgotten you. Keep up all the great work you're
doing.

Brothers,
As I conclude my term as High Rho, I look back upon the past few
months with deepest gratitude. I am very thankful for the
opportunity to enable our fraternity to grow through the
continued development of our Alumni Programming. Your
support and words of encourgement really made a difference in my
efforts. Our officer elections begin tomorrow night, and I
am very confident in all of those running for offices. I
hope to see our fraternity continue to grow.
For some of you, this may be your first email from me, for others,
this may be your twelfth. I hope that the next Rho
continues to take advantage of email because I have found it to
be an invaluable asset to this office. If you have any
suggestions and/or comments about the office of High Rho, please
email them to me and I will make sure that the new Rho reviews
them.
As we conclude another academic year, we still have quite a few
more fraternal events. I want to remind you that our alumni
golf scramble is this Saturday, April 10, 1999 at Canewood Golf
Course in Georgetown. The cost will be approximately $25
per person. We will be meeting at the house around 8:00 A.M.,
and our shot gun start tee time is at 8:30 A.M. I know
that this is more convenient for those who live in the Georgetown/Lexington
area, but I want to encourage each of you to attend. We
will be ending the day with an Alumni Advisory Board meeting at 4:00
P.M. If you have any questions concerning Saturday, please
let me know. Later this month, Kappa Omega will be hosting
a 5K race for Cancer and will be participating in the Second
Annual Greek Awards Banquet.
We are also continuing to work on our House Renovation Project.
Many more funds are needed for this. One of our alumni
suggested for me to mention that some businesses will match their
employees' donations. If you are interested in contributing,
please contact me.
Thanks again for a term filled with many memories. I hope
to continue communicating with many of you after my term is over.
Please know that I am always an email away. If I can ever
be of assistance to you in any way, please let me know.
Until then I remain most respectfully yours...

Brothers of Kappa Omega Zeta,
As I am writing this, our new associates are preparing to
experience our ritual. The 15 associates have been very
enthusiastic thus far, and we are very proud of the potential
that we are seeing in them. We feel confident that they
will be able to continue the tradition that you have preserved
and we continue to cherish.
February was a very eventful month for the entire fraternity.
Our efforts were focused on renovating our house, so that it may
be prepared for its renaming. Our vision is to honor Dr.
Ralph Curry in a way that exemplifies his legacy. After
speaking with the President of the college, we convinced him to
allow us to rename the house with the funds that we will raise
for our renovation project. If you wish to support this
cause, your contributions will allow us to complete our
renovation project as well as rename our house.
Ed Wimmer, a senior active member, has been in charge of this
extremely important project. He has contacted a
professional interior decorator to help us with our project.
After consulting with the decorator, we were able to texture and
paint our walls, as well as have carpet and ceramic tile
installed. We would not have been able to do this much work
if it hadnt been for the generous donations we received as
a result of the Kappa Omega Reunion at the Opryland Hotel.
We are very grateful to all of you who were able to contribute to
the fund at the reunion; however, we want to give more of you a
chance to contribute.
Our proposal is estimated at $35,000. In order to complete
the project we must raise approximately $25,000. We have
been trying to raise funds for the Ralph Curry Memorial Fund for
quite some time, but we were never going to receive the benefit
of a newly remodeled house until now. This new proposal is
much more feasible than the previous plan of simply raising $25,000
to rename the house. We now have the opportunity to rename
the house in honor of Dr. Curry in the way that it should be done.
Our house should look its best for the occasion. The school
has agreed to allow us to rename the house as soon we are able to
finish our remodeling project. We hope that we will reach
our goal by Homecoming 1999. This year will be our 60th
Anniversary as Kappa Omega and Lambda Chi Alphas 90th
Anniversary. Honoring Dr. Curry in 1999 would be the
perfect accent to this celebration.
Contributions to the house renovations project will be tax
deductible if checks are made payable to Georgetown College for
the LAMBDA CHI RENOVATION. I am sure that many of you have
questions as to how we can honor Dr. Curry by Homecoming 1999.
I want to encourage you to contact me via email and/or telephone
at 502 863-8675 and/or Ed Wimmer, Remodeling Coordinator, at 502
868-6544.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our chapter. If I can
be of assistance to you in any way, feel free to contact me.
Until then, I remain most respectfully yours...

By the way, Housemom Erin Ewing is alive and well in Jackson,

Brothers,
I hope that this finds you well. January was an exciting month in
the life of our fraternity. Chapel Day was on Friday,
January 22, 1999. We now have 15 new associates. We
are looking forward to revealing the secrets of Lambda Chi Alpha
to them. This year Ritual will be on the weekend of March 6-7.
There will be information about this in the Spring newsletter,
which you should receive next week. If you are interested
in coming, I urge you to contact our ritualist, Ben Crace, at 502
863-8671. Scheduling for this event will be different this
year than it has been in the past. Ben will be able to give
you more specific information about this.
We began renovations on our house in January. Things are
going quite well, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
Our walls have been textured and repainted, and our doors have
received a new coat of varnish. This week work will begin
on our floors. Every day things begin to look a little
better. The guys are very excited about this project, and
we feel that the final product is going to be something that will
make us very proud. We would like to thank the following
brothers for their generous donations:
Phillip Arnold, Michael Baker, Bill Beams, William Chesnut, James
Corya, James Conner, John Feiock, David Flumbaum, Douglas Gibson,
Dr. Dudley Glass, William Harvey, Joe Henry, Robert Hieb, Richard
Hill, Darryl Jones, Martin Kennedy, James Keoppe, Robert

with this project, you can contact Ed Wimmer, Remodeling
Coordinator, at 502 868-6544, or Kevin Brown, Alumni Secretary,
at 502 863-8675.
In closing, I would just like to thank you for the words of
encouragement that I have received during my term as High Rho.
I enjoy informing you of the happenings of the chapter, and I
hope that you enjoy hearing from me. As always, if I can be of

Brothers,
I hope that each of you had
a most blessed holiday season. I don't receive the chance
to visit home often, so it was good to share the holidays with my
family. As wonderful as the holidays were, the first week
of classes reminded me that I was back to the grind.
Spring Rush has begun. We had our
informal party Tuesday night, and it was a large success. I
would like to formally thank Dave Willis, our recruitment chair,
for his work in planning and executing the event. Our
Formal Rush party is this Tuesday night, and Bill Beams, Kappa
Omega 384, will be our alumni speaker. We are
looking forward to getting our new associates on Chapel Day,
January 22, 1999.
I have contacted members of our new Alumni Advisory Board
concerning our meeting on Monday, January 25, 1999, at 6:00.
Our board members will be given a chance to meet their Zeta
officer advisees to discuss officer goals. A brief overview
of the functions of an Alumni Advisory Board will be given as
well. I am looking forward to meeting our board members,
and I remain excited about the possibilities of the Alumni
Advisory Board. Thank you for your willingness to serve on
the board.
I am currently working on the Spring Newsletter. You will
be receiving your newsletter earlier this year so that you will
know about Ritual before it happens. It is not too late to
contact me with some news that you would like for me to include
in the newsletter. If have something you would like to see
in the newsletter, please email me with that information.
I know that I have mentioned several times about planning an
anniversary celebration this Spring. As a chapter, we have
decided that the event would be much more appropriate at
Homecoming this Fall. We feel that many more of you will be
able to attend in October. There will be more information
about this celebration in the Spring and Fall Newsletters.
Ed Wimmer has been heading a committee to renovate our chapter
house. We have received some generous contributions for the
renovation fund, and work has already begun. If you are
interested in contributing to the fund, contact me and I will
either explain our plans or I will have Ed contact you. We
have not received a list of contributors yet, but we would like
to thank those of you who have supported this effort.
It looks as though we are going to have a very successful

are greatly appreciated. If I can be of assistance to you
in any way, feel free to contact me at any time.
