Lambda Chi Alpha is all About...
Brotherhood Circle-up on a cold sunny day Having someone you can depend on in times of need, and being someone to depend on in return. Having someone to share your triumphs and accomplishments, your failures and sorrows, your fun and your work, your Pop Tarts and his shampoo. Brotherhood is all about Belonging.
The men of LCA strive to attain the ideals expressed in our open mottos: Vir Quisque Vir (Every Man a Man), Per Crucem Crescens (Crescent in the Cross), and Chalepa Ta Kala (Naught Without Labor), which together remind us that we must work hard to grow in Chistian ideals, integrity, and service to others as we pass from youth to adulthood. Ideals New Associate Members pledge fidelity to our ideals
Home The sun shines bright on our Old Kentucky Home! When you enter the "Lamb House," you get a feeling you're not in just another institutional dormitory, but a place we call "home." LCA strives to make its house a "home away from home" and its brotherhood a "family away from family" for our members during their college years. It is also place where our alumni know they can come and be welcomed at any time.
"Brothers Helping Others" sums it up. LCA carries on several regular Service projects each year. Our North American Food Drive and Operation Torch provide food for the needy. Our Watermelon Bust combines having fun with raising money to benefit the American Red Cross. Other/smaller projects are also done throughout the year. Scholarship Brothers at graduation 2005
As college students, academic success is our primary goal. Our Scholarship officer monitors the academic progress of our brothers and provides incentives for success, including our Floor Wars competition and Study Tables for new members. The chapter offers two modest scholarships, including the William Beams Scholarship for a freshman non-member. More significant scholarships for undergraduate and gradute studies are available through the General fraternity office.
For the past decade, Lambda Chi has been synonymous with leader at Georgetown College. Our members are leaders in academic, athletic, and faith-based organizations on campus. Our membership includes College President's Ambassadors and student government officers. There are over a dozen officers operating our chapter, offering members the opportunity to gain leadership skills beneficial for entering careers after college. Leadership Future leaders dressed for success!
Faith Brothers stop to pray at the Chapel on Bid Day Lambda Chi Alpha is a fraternity based on high Christian ideals which are difficult to achieve but for which we constantly strive to attain. Our weekly devotionals ("Devos") bring members and non-members together for praise and faith sharing, and is one of the largest such gatherings on campus.
Lambda Chi is about playing together! We have several organized social events each year, including formals and our Hawaiian Dance early in the fall semester. We also participate in intramural sports and sponsor an annual Watermelon Bust event involving all the sororities and women's dorms on campus. Play Brothers and dates at a Formal
Fun! Bring it On! Lambda Chi is all about having fun with Brothers as we learn, grow and play. Many of our strongest memories of fraternity and college life are not at some organized event or party, but occur in the day to day college life with the brothers.
Our brotherhood isn't just for four years, we are Lambda Chi's FOR LIFE! Our chapter has over a thousand alumni living around the country and across the globe. Though some live too far away to visit often, many alumni return for Homecoming, attend chapter meetings, organize their own events, and may "pop in" the house at any time.
