Kappa Omega Zeta Alumni Association Board Meeting

Borthers present: Bill Beams, Tom Grissom, Kevin Joiner, Bobby McDowell, Jeff Vanzant, and Jack Walker.

Bill Beams called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.

Bill Beams

• The Alumni Association has $700 in the treasury.
• The Endowment Fund has $15,000 in receipts and pledges. There should be a push to have other pledges in before Homecoming.
• Appointed Bobby McDowell as Treasurer of the Alumni Association.

Tom Grissom

• The 2005 Homecoming will honor the Class of 1955. All living members (19) of the class have been contacted and nine (9) have responded.
• There will be a dinner on Friday night to honor this class. Twenty-five to thirty people are expected to attend. Several locations are being considered for the dinner.
• Brother Grissom asked that the Chapter send a special invitation to the Class of 1955 and recognize them at the Saturday Chapter meeting. A special memento would be appropriate. He also thought that the classes of 1953 through 1956 should be invited.
• Each Homecoming should honor the 50th anniversary class.
• Would it be possible to reserve seats at the football game for the class of 1955?

Bobby McDowell

• Add Neil Camphouse's name to the Green Donor Plaque.

Jeff Vanzant

• The golf scramble at Longview had 25 participants and we would like to expand it in future years.
• Suggested that there be an Alumni/Active dinner every three months to involve the actives in more projects.

Kevin Joiner

• There is a $15 annual fee for Network Solutions to continue hosting the Alumni Association Web Site. The board agreed to pay this fee.

The next Alumni Association Board meeting will be September 27, at 6:30 P.M. in the Porter Memorial Chapel.
